Lead/Zinc-Free Thread Compound

ThreadSeal represents the next generation—environmentally responsible, high-performance thread compound—tailored to meet today’s demanding oilfield applications. Serving as a superior alternative to API-Modified, ThreadSeal offers robust sealing, anti-seize protection, and long-term corrosion resistance under extreme pressure conditions. This lithium-based thread compound contains copper, graphite, and a blend of nonmetallic, inorganic, extreme pressure, and antiwear additives. Its high-quality lithium base grease provides a high melting point and excellent water resistance, allowing it to adhere effectively to wet or oily threads.

ThreadSeal seals connections up to 10,000 psi while protecting against rust, corrosion, oxidation, galling, and H?S attack. It withstands high-pressure, high-temperature environments, and maintains stability and resists chemically aggressive conditions, including sour gas and CO?. This compound delivers exceptional corrosion protection, outperforming most alternatives in salt water fog spray testing, making it an excellent choice for long-term storage applications.

Brushable across a wide temperature range, ThreadSeal is ideal for use on API and Semi-Premium OCTG connections, flow lines, and subsurface tools.

Conforms to API RP 5A3 Fourth Edition standards and meets or exceeds all key performance requirements, including evaporation, gas evolution, oil separation, water leaching, and copper corrosion.

Benefits:

  • No lead or zinc, eliminating the potential for hydrogen gas evolution.
  • Contains additive that protects against rust, corrosion, and oxidation.
  • Sticks well to wet or oily thread surfaces.
  • H₂S inhibited.
